Tickets and opening times

10 euros for the standard ticket, 7 euros for the reduced ticket. Every third Thursday of the month the ticket costs 3 euros and every first Sunday of the month admission is free. Reservations are mandatory for groups of at least 10 people and for schools. Under the age of 18 admission is free and between 18 and 25 you can take advantage of the reduced rate. The Pinacoteca di Brera is located in the Brera Palace, a beautiful place full of history that also houses the Braidense National Library, the Brera Observatory, the Botanical Garden, the Lombard Institute of Sciences and Letters and the Academy of Fine Arts.

The Pinacoteca di Brera consists of 38 rooms in which are exported masterpieces of Italian artists from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century and some foreign authors and is certainly among the most important museums in Italy and in the world. Among the exhibited artists we find Piero della Francesca, Mantegna, Raphael, Bramante, Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Bellini and Bronzino. In the courtyard at the entrance there is a work by Canova representing the effigy of Napoleon.

Among the most important works held at the Pinacoteca di Brera we find “The scourging of Christ” by Luca Signorelli, the “Dead Christ” by Andrea Mantegna, “The Holy Conversation” by Piero della Francesca, “The Marriage of the Virgin” by Raphael, “Pietà” by Giovanni Bellini and “Il bacio” by Francesco Hayez.
